"Macbeth"

(1998 - Highbridge House CRU and Great Torrington School)

Macbeth was one of Wolf + Water’s biggest ever projects to produce, a full length 16mm film adaptation of Shakespeare’s “Scottish Play” made in Devon without the aid of kilts.

Produced on a budget of £30,000 (equivalent to the money needed to shoot 15 seconds of “Casualty” at the time) the film, with a soundtrack produced by Bruce Gilbert (Wire), Simon Fisher Turner (who created the sound tracks for Derek Jarman’s films) and Robert Fripp, was produced to promote the talents of people with learning difficulties to a national audience and was shown in a number of cinemas.

Copies of the film are available for £15 including postage and packaging from our online shop.

“…enthralling, confusing, provoking, uplifting, self indulgent, astonishing and hallucinatory by turns and sometimes simultaneously… I sat watching with my hand on the remote control looking to short cut and save time - but I never pressed it - greater praise has no reviewer”
Mailout Magazine

“An extraordinary and admirably ambitious piece of work…this film deserves to be seen”
