Duplo Dno Project – 2004 – 5

An ongoing cross community theatre project based in Banja Luka & Prijedor in Bosnia. Working with a group of 30 young adults from across Northern Bosnia, the project began with a number of training workshops exploring conflict management & human rights before beginning to apply what participants learnt in devising a theatre performance that was shown in Sanski Most (a Bosniak town in the Federation), Kosarac (a Bosniak community in Republika Srpska) & Prijedor (a mainly Serbian town). This process involved taking participants into areas they’d not previously visited.

“Modig” Ottestad steinerskoken - Hamar, Norway – September 2006

A welcome return to this bunch of twenty 8 – 15 year olds with learning difficulties to combine them with a great group of twenty 9 year olds to create a huge outdoor multi media public performance on the theme of bravery involving giant puppets, dragons & …biscuits.

Prigorodny schools project - Nalchik, Kabardino Balkaria - August-Nov 2005

Initially this project spent time with the cpcd (Centre for Peacebuilding and Community Development) counsellors who were delivering psycho social programmes for young people in 3 schools in north ossetia. The region has seen tensions for a long while, many predating the ingush ossetian conflicts of the early 90s, but especially so in the post beslan context.

Royal shakespeare company “gunpowder” season - Stratford upon avon, uk – November 2005

As part of this season exploring the relationship between theatre & terrorism past & present, wolf + water was invited to give a presentation on their experience of using drama to work with & in situations of terrorism, in northern ireland & the caucuses.


“The Waiting Room” - Devon - 2005

North Devon Hospice Dissolving Boundaries Conference.

This was the especially commissioned opening performance for this two day international conference exploring issues around death & dying, & looked at the complex & shifting relationships between the patient, the family carer & the professional. This was followed up with a workshop on using drama with people with life limiting conditions.

“The inspectors” & “The return of the inspectors” - Devon - March – September 2005

Devised with the bideford “chapter” of many directions theatre co., this was an interactive theatre show designed to help people with learning difficulties and service providers work together to improve access and inclusion in the community. it visited community resource centres & arts venues across devon & was also performed for the learning disability partnership board.

Education towards an ethnically stable society - Skopje, Macedonia 2000-2005

A series of twice yearly week long residential training courses with trainee teachers from the university of Skopje, to, over a number of years, teach & train them to develop a whole curiculum & approach to education that took into account Macedonia’s ethnic tensions, & to use school & education as a way of addressing some of these issues.
